The church has been here in Codsall for at least 800 years. St Nicholas & St Peters offer places to mark the occasions we share, like Remembrance Day, Christmas and Easter. In our churches families can bring children for baptism, and couples have a wonderful venue to celebrate their weddings. We also support families through the difficult time of bereavement, often including a funeral service in church. In every generation there have been those who have handed on the torch of faith. We thank God for those who have passed on that light to us. We are now looking to pass on the same light of faith to the children and young people of today, so that as they grow up they may discover God’s love for themselves, and learn to walk in his way. There are lots of ways that we are seeking to do this. Our All age Service at 11.15am each Sunday is a great place for families and others to worship together. The children feel welcomed and valued. Our young people play their part in the service, and join together for their own activities in our Youth Group. We visit local schools to take assemblies and invite pupils to activities in the church. We put on a monthly St.Nic’s@St.Nic’s service at St. Nicholas First School. We arrange other special events for children and families. and welcome our Toddler group to church. Another example of the way we are taking the church out to people are our ‘Church in the Village’ afternoons at the Forget-me-not Club - a time of friendship and a good tea! We offer a variety of services in our churches - from the lively Family Services every week at St. Nicholas’ and occasionally at St. Peter’s, to more traditional and more reflective services. You will see other examples of our many activities on this website. Although very generous support has been given to the church over the years, these gifts are barely keeping up with our outgoings. We want to maintain and develop our ministry, but we can do this only if we can continue to find financial support. I believe that our churches can have an important role to play in the future of Codsall and Codsall Wood, as they have had in the past, and that is why I am asking for your help. Please consider making a response, if you can. I hope very much that together we can secure a future for our churches.
