A Fairtrade Church

Fairtrade Logo

We are very pleased to be able to announce that St Nicholas has become a Fairtrade Church. On the first and third Sundays of the month we have a stall with a wide range of fairly traded goods, including tea and coffee and dried fruit, as well as lots of delicious treats including a whole range of chocolate and biscuits.

To become a Fairtrade church we have committed to:

  1. Using Fairtrade tea and coffee at all our events.
  2. Starting to use other Fairtrade products including biscuits and sugar.
  3. Publicising Fairtrade goods.

By pledging this, we have been declared a Fairtrade Church by the Fairtrade Foundation, joining many other churches and places around the country, including Wolverhampton. We have become a Fairtrade Church, as we believe that it is important to show God's love to everyone in practical ways. Many of you will have watched the Live8 concerts and got involved in other ways with the MakePovertyHistory campaign. One on-going way that we can all help is by buying Fairtrade goods, marked with the Fairtrade symbol. This guarantees that the people who actually grew the crops are paid a fair, living, wage for them.

If you want further information please visit the Fairtrade Foundation's website, or come along on first and third Sundays to buy some for yourself. Alternatively if you come to any of our events you'll be able to try them for yourself.
